I’ve been trying for the past 7 days to get my fixed lte speed resolved with afrihost and no joy at all.
my kids study online and for the past week they used mobile data. I’ve asked the support team several times to provide me with senior managements contact details and hey never did Afrihost’s customer service is the worst.

Hi Ridwaan,

Ohh no that does not sound like good support at all. Can I have a look and see what the issue might be? You can send me your clientzone email so I can have look?

The customer claimed the issue was not related to network quality, as he was achieving nearly a 50Mbps download speed during the day.

Really?

Over Fixed LTE?

Yes, why not.

Quite a large number of AH fixed LTE clients including myself regularly achieving 100+ Mbps speeds. Here's my fastest so far:

150Mbps

This poster even blew my max 150Mbps away at over 230Mbps!

230Mbps

hehe yeah that 230mbps result was insane, it definitely puts rain 5G to shame :p
To be fair ones speeds depend on a number of factors... primarily location, signal strength, tower usage/congestion.. things which most of us have no control over.

It's luck of the draw for the most part, unfortunately, and I've been exceptionally fortunate at my last 2 properties with AH MTN.
Rain and AH Telkom fixed LTE,otoh, were abysmal. Plus AH support, especially on this forum has been v responsive, quick and helpful when needed. Their website and mobile app are also

YMMV.

absolutely! It's just nice to know what a theoretical can be if all the conditions are right. I'm more than happy personally with an average of 35-40mbps in the day and 60+ at night with MTN and I'm basically in the middle of nowhere, so it's a big one up from my old 4mbps ADSL, also with Afrihost.

MTN claims or appears to guarantee 10-50 Mbps.
I thought it should have been better,

Now that makes sense. The whole purpose of the nighttime packages are better data rates and less congestion.

My query is trying to work out what OP claims in the article, to see if his claims are theoretically feasible.

Seeing you guys are achieving good results, what are your speed tests figures please.

oh yes! Apologies, I was only quoting Afrihost's guaranteed speeds line. You're right, and I'd reckon that's more reasonable for most people to achieve.

I'm on the same package from AH and have been having connection speed issues early evenings for several weeks now

Usually around from 7pm

During the day it's fine

That really sounds like tower congestion
