Slow to No connection. Devil's Peak Estate, Cape Town

I Have moved from Durbanville area to Cape Town Central (Devil's peak estate) and all I seem to get is EDGE, and **** EDGE at that on the 8ta service.

I also have a CellC account that is a little bit better but still nothing in comparison to how my connections were in Durbanville.

I have already asked customer service to help me, through the chat with a consultant thing on the web site, but all they had to say was that I should just cancel the account... Fine salesman there.

Went to the Telkom mobile store in Canal walk and the consultant there said he cant send out a tech or anything because I have had the account for more than 6 months (how do you people keep your clients O_O)

so I need some solutions here... I would like to still use my 8ta connection as I am paying for it and to cancel it is INSANE.

The website says there IS connectivity here, but my experience says otherwise.

can anyone help?

glad to hear that i'm not the only one getting PATHETIC service & signal from them...
~also~ it took 2years of struggling with call'center & the local TELKOM direct shop before i eventualy was able to send/receive MMS's with my 8TA contract...

When I look at the website a large section of Devils Peak has no 3G Connection. Presumably though you checked for your specific street?

I did... look for yourself.

Ben Avenue, Cape Town 8001

But i mean... its the city center (ok ok, to be fair...edge of) so you would think there would be connectivity here

I must agree with alot of people that the 8ta service is horrible... Guess thats what you get from a company that has a monopoly

I also got Edge speeds last night. I thought that maybe there was a much wider problem and then used my Cell C 3G dongle, and got much better speeds (full reception on HSPA+). What gives?!

Edited to add that I'm in Westville, KZN.

At least you guys have signal, I have had zero 2G or 3G signal from Telkom's Home network since Saturday.....
I have the Internet 5 Promo so can't roam on MTN.....
