I do agree that Cell C should be sorted out but I think the problem is that if the techi is named and is used as a tool he could stand a chance of loosing his job. Large companies like this one feel nothing for booting somebody because they spoke the truth. Agree??

From that point of view, it makes sense.

Maybe we should replace the techies name with the names of the top four executives in Cell C.

I think what we should do is get all the Cell C customers who have got issues with their "speed sticks" to put up a complaint on Hellopeter.com. That should make Cell C crap them selves a bit. Lets not sit down and take it up the arse. We should all stand together and stand up for our rights!!! Who is with me?

Think I should start a new thread. "Time for us to stand up for our rights, Cell C must fix our speed or give our money back!!"

If I can throw in a reality check here. Consider how long Vodacom and MTN have been in the data game. Then consider when Cell C launched HSPA+. It's going to take time to build and stablise their network. They are going through a huge learning curve at the moment I'm sure. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now.

What I do however not appreciate it the sporadic feedback on the forum or in the press. Having information leak out from your techies rather than making a more official statement smacks of cover up. While I appreciate that noone every wants to admit they have an issue, how you manage those issues in the public eye says a lot about your characater as a company. I'm hoping Cell C come to the party and play a bit more open like they have in the past.

I know some are going to have more pain than others while the building continues, but the reality is 1000's of towers with fibre backhaul don't just appear overnight. I remain thankful that someone is bringing us afforadle mobile data, so I'll [speed]"stick" it out. :)

I'm not too happy about this whole situation.

When you buy a car you don't get the body now and as time goes by you get the wheels so you can start driving it.

CellC shouldve got their infrastructure ready before they sold us Whooooosh.

May I also add, last night was the first time in two weeks that I was able to browse the internet although the speed was still terrible, but usable.

I agree with Piesang. They advertise a product but they down maintain the service. Putting up new towers is not the issue here, the structure is there but the technology on them can't cope. I used to get good speeds now they are CRAP. Morkhans, Im not trying to pick on u or any of the other people here,I am pissed off about they whole situation.

Instead of using the money that we have spent on the "speedstick" for goodness knows what, use it to deliver on the promises made. If this happened in the USA do u think people would just let it happen, I don't think so!! South Africans are to soft and that is why these companies get away with stuff like this.

I still maintain that we need to pull together as unhappy customers and make our selves heard!!

Thats my 2cents worth.

Technician advised me the local supplier ZTE has no radio equipment in stock to build new towers. They have equipment on order from China. 6 - 12 months before I might get a new tower in my area....

Dood. That is utter BS. My girlfriend works for the company that is importing all the ZTE towers. The stores are in Sacks Circle. I was there last week and there was a tower sitting outside and there are components siting inside the warehouse. The techi has no idea what he is talking about, they are just trying to cover them selves because they are running behind on installing the towers.

Good luck with that.

Cell C say they are paying me a visit tomorrow. Let's see what happens.

Uploads back to 0.03 Mbps again this morning, downloads +- 1 Mbps.

Cell C visited and their verdict: interference at the tower. That's what they told me a month ago. It was supposed to have been fixed, but apparently not. It will now be reported to their interference specialists. I'm trying to be positive.

I was trying to attach two 1 MByte jpg's to Gmail. Waited a couple of minutes and only got to about 300 kByte and gave up. Uploaded pretty quick on 384 kbit ADSL :(

And this is why:

Sad to say, but I now use my 384 kbps ADSL most of the time because I get better reliability and faster uploads. :(

Take note:
Could everyone that is having an issue please pm me the tower id, rssi, area and rough time of disconnections/slow speeds. Going to try compile a full list of everyone having this issue in CT and submit it to cell c. I will be doing this till this sunday so should be enough time for everyone to pm.

I think this is going to be a long list

Still experiencing the slow upload speeds from time to time.

1255001542.png

I basically get slow speeds with particularly slow uploads 24/7. Been going on for more than 3 months now. Cell C say it is caused by interference at the tower, but then do nothing about it.

I will have to move over to Vodacom, or something.:crying:
