Well, looks like they're fixing the CT uploads... Not often you see more on upload!

Only way to resolve this is to complain, i have sent numerous complaints to cell c via Hello Peter .com and on cell c tell Trevor and website....

Checked my upload again and it has not been fast at all in January/Feb like it was in November and December... Tech from Cell c said its because of congestion on the network.... looks like troubled waters...

Uploads for me are still only 0.13 Mbps (16 kB/s). I complained to Cell C for the third time, this time via email (onlinesupport@cellc.co.za and escalations@cellc.co.za). They phoned me back after 90 minutes, asked some questions, gave me a reference number and promised some action. Lets see what happens. This is very tiring.

Well, the whole of yesterday, I only got EDGE..... not today, I have WCDMA, at full strength! It has never been this good before (signal strength). Also, no disconnects, 5Mbit downloads. Maybe they did some work on the Durbanville area yesterday?

At first, 10am... Brackenfell was darn right aweful... I tossed the CellC dash and am now running Mobile Partners dash, not if it's related, but my connection and speed are super stable! Holding thumbs and cross toes!

Just a quick update, the stability didn't last long... last night 07 Feb was disasterous... I couldn't stay connected for more than a minute or 2, tried all 3 dashes CellC, Mobile Partners and MDMA... nothing helped. It's painful when you need to do online banking and you battle to get past the login page! At least I didn't sell/give-away my VC modem... I take reliability over whoosh speeds any day!

Area: Morgenster Heights, and my family in Protea Heights and Vredekloof are experiencing the same!

All,

Can you all give me an update on the speeds and connection stability today. Also if you are seeing an issue please include what suburb, modem, and drivers for the modem. I will have the team look into any issues.

Sorry for the hassles

Ok, the stats... connection seems stablish... but data throughput is horrible, upload speed is faster than download!

SpeedTest: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1147904998.png

Modem: E1752
Driver: 4.20
Dash: CellC
RSSI: -87dBm
ConnType: HSPA

Suburb: Brackenfell, Vredekloof

BTW we use VC 3G for the office, runs super stable, often don't get disconnected days/weeks...

I will post results using MDMA dash in a mo...

Results using MDMA are pretty much the same, shocking that the upload is faster than download!

Still getting pathetic upload speeds (0.13 Mbps / 16 kB/s) and frequent disconnects in Plumstead, Cape Town. Corner of Ophir and Holmdene Roads. Slow uploads since December last year. Downloads also used to be much better.
Cell ID 40411 -77dBm Huawei E1820 Driver version 4.20.11.00

Incidently, I get exactly the same problems when I use a Sierra Aircard modem, so I don't think the issues are modem/driver related.

Uploads are still broken in Edgemead. Using E1820 on FreeBSD.

I usually get around 0.2 Mbit/sec on uploads in Stellenbosch on my E1820. Can't post a test now as I'm on EDGE running tests for a day or 2.

That was in the Simonswyk area, moving a few hundred meters to campus area, I also get about 0.2 mbps upload with disconnects every few minutes.
