Yesterday and today - connection speeds in Rondebosch only just faster than dial-up. Is there a particular problem at the moment? J

Someone from Cell C's data helpdesk finally contacted me today. Said they are presently concentrating on a major issue in the Stellenbosch area (maybe he meant Rondebosch?). When that is fixed in the next few days, they will then look into my area (Plumstead). That's all I know because that's all he seemed to know.

No really screw this, telling Trevor is not solving our problem. How can we escalate this so that it gets more media exposure?

1geoff99 says They know about the problem so they are looking into it. You can also mail them onlinesupport@cellc.co.za

I have also mailed them about the slow connection

My service has also deteriorated significantly since January.
e.g.

PM'd the Cell C rep on Saturday, got reply today, was asked to mail onlinesupport. Did mail, got phone call back in couple of hours, impressed with response time.

He also said they are working on major problems in Stellenbosch. Mentioned that "Planning and Optimisation" are going to take a look a Plumstead and then my query (Rondebosch) next.

Took a drive Sunday throughout Rondebosch, there are areas where the signal is very strong, obviously closer to towers, however my street's signal has gone from -77 -> -85 -> -93 -> -103 to none in the space of a month and a half. My usual Cell ID (40502) went down this past weekend, which killed it completely but is up again today, however, as evident from speedtest, still very slow speeds.

I am hoping they can help us, prepared to work with them.

FYI, some tower sightings:
Police station, Landsdown Rd
Red Cross, Klipfontein Road
Engen / Mercedes, cnr Protea & Main (did not see actual tower, RSSI:>-51dBm)

Brackenfell was surprisingly good this weekend, I upload a large amount 200+ images to Google's Picasa, process ran pretty quick... no disconnection... but I know, tonight may well be a different story!
