Slow upload speeds in Cape Town

Cell C told me I'm getting slow speeds including slow uploads because of 'interference' at my tower. I'm beginning to not believe this. Too many people at different locations are also getting extremely slow uploads. Are we all having tower 'interference' or is there something else going on?

I suspect it's a backhaul or configuration issue. Maybe some towers have been connected using asynchronous links. If it was interference at the tower then your download would also be affected. From keeping rough eye on people posting here, most seem be Southern Suburbs expect ginggs.

Last night in Claremont I couldn't get more than 0.4mbps download and 0.03mbps upload. Been like this for about 3 weeks now. Is anyone from their side ever going to offer a legit explanation and plan of action?

They have logged it and gave me a ref number. Some network guys will come and investigate the base stations.
I don't have much hope seeing that the problem is all over the WC.

Anyone with half a brain who reads the posts in this forum will realise that the problem does not lie at any particular base station.

My first guess would be contention ratios? My upload speed is particularly bad, speedtest.net often reporting figures round about 5kbps.

Maybe things are improving a bit. I am now sometimes getting somewhat better speeds even during daylight hours compared to the consistent pathetic speeds I was getting 24/7 during the past few weeks.

It has never really recovered for me. It's still incredibly hit and miss, mostly I get a stable connection but it's so dog slow it's barely usable. :/
