Hey guys,
Dont know if you will be able to help me, but my friend has a big problem. He has a 100WR Telkom Router. Since he got adsl, whenever he wants to open up a webpage, it takes forever to load. He thought that a format will rectify the problem, but alas, last night after he formatted the problem still persisted.
When visiting a intl site, it takes anything up to 1 minute or longer for it to open up and some local doesnt either want to open up within a few seconds. I have thought of all the possibilities, but I cant for the life of me think what could be the problem. I also let him do the line speed test on games.saix.net and the speed came up to 292,12 kbps, where mine is at 325,40 kbps.
He does live in an older neigborhood, so the lines can't be as new as the ones we have in my neighborhood. Could it perhaps be a setting on the router ? Do you guys have any other suggestions on what we can try to speed things up a bit ? Even when he wants to update the server list in games like BF 2 and 2142 it does nothing !
He is with cybersmart and he has a 384k connection.
