This is a macbook white though, always going to sell in the US for <1000 dollars. Can't compare to the aluminium macbook unibodies, have to compare to other macbook whites.

even if we add transaction costs and bid/offer spread to the 7.65 we still get raped big time by core... u can even remove VAT and we would still be gettin shafted...

We're technically part of the Euro/Africa area so we get a different pricing band to the US costs. Also, the US doesn't include sales tax.

Oh yeah, that must be because of those huge mac factories in the Euro/Africa band meaning that Euro/Africa costs of manufacturing apply.

Oh, sorry, wait, every mac is made in china and ships to stores around the world from there.

Why can't Apple let Core buy from US retailers? Even at US retail prices?
Obviously since Core is an authorised distributor for Apple, Core should be getting better than US retail prices - they get a discount.

You're right - Argentina, Brazil and Iceland are being shafted more than we are. I suppose fourth worst is better than 'the' worst.
