hi guys,

Im moving into an estate that has fibre through Smart Village, they give you 1gig free which is nothing these days, one movie can eat through that lol.

If anyone using smart fibre?
Can i use different isps on it? Doubt it.
What sort of pricing did you have with them? the site for my complex asks me to fill in a form and doesnt give me a pricing guide, but some other areas do.

Thanks guys

WOOT!!! Fibre!!!!

Not sure about Smart Village, and if they are the same as SADV. But maybe speak with @PBCool from Cool Ideas, if they are on the network, I would recommend them as an ISP.

yea i would like to go to another ISP if i can, but if i cant, i will just have to deal with it if i cant. i found a couple old threads from like 2011 but those are ancient and paint a bleak picture regarding them

I am obligated to say Stay away from smart village after my experience with them. Avoid at all costs.

Typically their networks are not open access for most od their estates at this stage, so they are the only ISP you can use.
20Mbps Uncapped is R749/m, 50Mbps Uncapped is R949/m. These prices may be specific to my estate.
While we do have the odd interruption they are substantially better (both service and price) since MTN took them over.

They were always "open access" ... does not mean anything... unfortunately we have also had very bad experiences...

Good grief. :wtf:

That price list is from many years ago.

This is Smart Village's latest price list for uncapped fibre:

Also, although they have gone open access no other ISP has shown any interest in it.

Are you moving to Retire@Midstream perhaps?

Don't follow.

OP requested pricing of Smart Village fibre.

What does other ISP pricing have to do with this? They are not using Smart Village fibre infrastructure, even though is it open access AFAIK.
