Smit savours first success on New Zealand soil

I loved this report! :D

A thumping tackle on Brad Thorn meant victory tasted sweeter than Springboks rugby captain John Smit could have ever imagined here last night
.

Why?

It had burned at Smit and his teammates that he missed last year's historic defeat of New Zealand in Dunedin, injured out of the test when dumped to the ground by Thorn a week earlier in Wellington, resulting in a suspension to the All Blacks lock.

So little wonder that Smit's teammates mobbed him last night after he blindsided Thorn in a driving blow to the solar plexus soon after halftime, the ball spilling loose in a symbolic moment.

Wonder what it measured on the Richter Scale?

For Smittie, I am hugely pleased!
