Smoke signals?

I've just about had it with SA Internet!

I recently cancelled my ADSL line as Telkom managed to incorrectly bill me with R3000 (I've had a similar incident with ISDN as well). 3 months after admitting their mistake (even though they had already disconnected my service) I am still waiting to be refunded.

I thus opted to go for the Sentech 256 MyWireless option (closest price to ADSL). I have to admit the service in general has been much better compared to Telkom but the bandwidth is appalling!! I used to get about 40kbps on ADSL thus one would expect around 20kbps on 256 (especially considering I have full signal). I am currently receiving less than the average modem speed (3kbps).

It seems you just can’t win, perhaps I should try smoke signals next. . .

If it wasn't for me having a cat, I would be thinking of using carrier pigeons, which are an offically recognised method of trasmitting tcp/ip packets (http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1149.html) unlike smoke signals :p
