Hi Everyone.

Apologies for my ignorance but I don't know where to actually place this question as I'm a newbie, just reading MyBoradband everyday. (admin, please move if it needs to be moved)

1) I have a tracking device which works obviously with a sim card
2) I have Vodacom & MTN pre-paid sim cards
3) These cards needs to be both "data enabled". Mustn't be able to receive voice calls. Only sms communication.
4) Vodacom said I need to "bar/r" the calls and I still need to get info from MTN.

Please can I ask you guys for help on this. These cards are going to work with these tracking devices. Commands needs to be send to these devices which they in return must also reply.

I hope I have explained well enough and your assistance in this regard will be of really big help.

Thanks guys,
Regards,
Bani

Why do you need to bar voice services? Just because the sim card is voice capable doesn't mean you have to use it.

Most gms devices use missed call or PCM as an activation trigger. But most of these devices also have whitelists to stop erroneous activation.

Check the manual for setting authorised numbers.
