Has anyone since got this to work properly?

nevermind - got it going. seems there's no way without telnetting into it and deleting that policy from the iptable

just for interest sake - none of the firewall rules mentioned in the above link are necessary. you just have to enable SNMP on your router, telnet into it and pop in the following:

# iptables -D INPUT 1

works awesomely with PRTG.

Pity settings are lost on reboot
