Notice how Telkom's share price went up at the news. The market knows that when they say 7 months it is most likely going to mean another 3 years. Ivy will do everything that she can to block this, ICASA will stuff up and there will probably be more lawsuites and stuff...It is like a soap opera.

It is important to keep an eye on the minister during this process. I get the impression it would be too suspect for her to do something. Personally I am not too convinced that Telkom is worried about the SNO. Can you say DUOPOLY?

Well, Telkom has already told their corporate customers that they Will be undercutting the SNO by as much as 10%. The makings of a DUOPOLY are not there yet.

Well the latest news I have from Meshan Manikam (Transtel) is this:

Hi,

Thank you for you interest and good wishes with the SNO.

The current status is:
1. The shareholder agreement has been signed
2. The licensing of the SNO has still to be awarded to the SNO by the regulatory body. It has been approved by the minister.
3. Product specifics will be forthcoming.
4. The intent is potentially to go live late this year.

Kind regards

So looks like they're still positive...
