The Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) is ready to award the second national operator (SNO) licence and an announcement will be made within weeks, says deputy minister of communications, Roy Padayachie. Speaking at the Department of Communications' colloquium on telecommunications pricing in Midrand yesterday, the deputy minister assured that while the SNO licence had been widely expected in June, it was now only a matter of weeks before the licence would be issued.
