Snowden talks to South Africans about data snooping

It's such a catch 22.

People want automated systems that learn their behavior and what they want and like. The only way to achieve this is to allow the systems to collect this type of information. An example of this is Waze, if it didn't collect any information of the users using it, it wouldn't be able to suggest the fastest route around traffic jams or warn about road blocks. I believe that a certain level of information needs to pass over in order for you to benefit from the convenience of these solutions.

If Snowden really used Signal, he wouldn't need to escape for such tricks. This method is suitable for spy network of properly trained agents, not a normal community members.
