I actually have (reverse)catfishing profiles that I use for work, despite me not being on any social media platform, I need to have access to social media for testing purposes and to open some links since my work involves photography and marketing.

I mentioned a while back in another thread that I changed a social media's profile to a model we did a photo-shoot with, and messages flooded in thinking that the account was that of the actual 20 year old model(despite the profile labeled as 40/M). People didn't read anything or see what the profile was about first, they just fired away.

For the next few profiles our team created, I took pictures of models and with their permission, I cropped out their identifiable features and put nothing on my profile except for a message stating "Please don't contact me, not looking for anything." They mentioned that they had been getting gross messages everywhere, so I made the profile as unappealing as possible(no info, a warning to stay away, no activity, etc.)

The results have been that on average I get 10-20 messages a week, of messages ranging from "hi how you" to people giving me a whole story of why they would love to meet me, to people dropping me their numbers to whatsapp them back. Getting a whatsapp number from a stranger is almost 90% chance they want to try their luck to sext you.

Now I don't actively go looking for these people and I don't encourage them, but occasionally I will repsond to a "hi" with a "hi" back, to see where this strategy goes. I also save a bunch of cell numbers in a notepad(that are sent to me upfront) and keep them there, so any time somebody requests my catfishing profile's number, I take one from the notepad and send it to them.

Photography work gets you the weirdest people messaging you. Some think your number is the the number of whichever model they fancied from your website/portfolio.
