Noticed that I was due to a handset upgrade so turfed the ****ty Nokia 61 something in the garbage bin (the cleaning lady was happy when she found it) and got a Sony Erricson W810i on Vodacom.
Spent the weekend in Langebaan and tried surfing via the cellphone and besides the cellphone not being the most ideal platform the connection also mysteriously stopped working for a few minutes at a time before the page was downloaded.
Rather frustrating.
Also got a Bluetooth dongle for the PC and got the phone setup to function as an emergency internet connection but it is kind of slow poke as well.
W810i is supposedly EDGE and I live about a 1000 meters from a cellphone tower so I should be getting 238K but it sure does not feel like it.
