Ok so I have a stock issue D-Link (DLS-2750U, the telkom one). I am on an uncapped 4mbps account with Hellkom. About 2 weeks ago my speeds slowed right down. My line was syncing at less than a meg (normally about 3.5 -3.7). They say all seems good on thier side. Now every time I reboot my router the sync speeds changes, not by much +- 80bps. Does anyone know if this might be an issue on router it self (I sometimes forget to plug it out when there is load shedding so I am afraid that a power surge might have messed it up a bit.)

Line stats?
What ISP are you on? Have you tried an alternate account?
Have you tried another router or at least unplugging all phones/filters and plugging the router directly into the socket?

Plug out all your analog phones and POTS filters and plug the modem into the line directly.

See if your sync stats are more consistent now.

Odds are the POTS filter has died or is dying.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this. Line sync rate when from 980 - 1200 not sure what that means

With that SNR you have a really bad line. Could be the pots/line as well. Ask your neighbor if you could borrow his/her modem for a moment and plug it in and check.

I have noticed there is a tree growing infront of the pole. And my line has to go through the tree now
