So just got a ticket for my motor license..need advice

Yup, just as it is the South African way to moan and bitch about every other driver on the road, but happily break all the rules yourself.
Not so cool, just do the right thing, and take the fine and proof of your licence to the nearest friendly police station - explain to them why it wasn't on, and see what they want you to pay - speak nicely and they will probably reduce it.
I am just so tired of everyone wanting to get out of fines in this bloody country.
If you get a fine for a law that you have broken, have the balls to man up and pay it!

Agree. There is also a post about saying that a coke and KFC would have done the trick. Easy to be the corruptor when it is convenient but when it's not to their benefit, they shout about government officials and "inept or useless cops".
Everyone needs to pay their part and if that means paying gives, then so be it.
I had similar as the OP and had a R500 fine even though the license disc was sitting at the dealership (pre-owned car).
