Considering all the fuss created around MyADSL.co.za, Hellkom.co.za and telkomsucks.co.za, I bet you they wished they had never heard of ADSL or even implemented it.

You hit the nail on the head their. But how can we explain this to ICASA in language they will understand.

The price is inflated (compared to rest of planet) for "regular normal ise".

I don't want to have to know a techie to get service.

<br />cap = no problem for regular normal use (which i think the service was intended for)

port shaping = not experienced that yet, so wouldnt know. what kind of port shaping ?

installation delay = with you on that one, it is terrible, but helps if you know a telkom techie :)

You hit the nail on the head there Perdition!

Telkom makes a killing from "call initiated and timed" services like ISDN and ordinary dialup internet. Now it brings out ADSL, but doesn't want to lose the other HUGE INCOME but old tech services. So what does Telkom do? It breaks ADSL's legs and charges a fortune for it. It goes out of its way to prevent its services competing with eachother. If the one is too slow, the other faster option will be too EXPENSIVE!!! That is Telkom logic for you...

Cheers
