Bottomed out at around $65-, might go even lower. Big names like Sasol really taking a bit of a dive. Anyone buying?

The question is when I'd it the right time to buy? Sasol down R100 in the past week or so iirc.

Have you got a share trading account?

No don't have anything. and I know I need to watch the timeline of prices and see if it is going to drop some more.a-lot of work.Study the market and do alot of research to see whats going on. I am like that.

Agreed. Oil price also likely to fall further if supply in the middle east isn't cut. That'll infuriate the traders no end :)

No cut into production into at least March next year, OPEC trying to drive prices down to make US shale un-economical.

Interesting. That'll also kill the Nigerian economy as well as dampen any ideas of prospecting for shale gas locally in the Karoo.

So which horse would you back? The resource, the index, or the company? I'll be keeping a close eye on this one, with some good timing I believe one can make a buck or two.

Pretty sure you just have to watch for the headline "OPEC price war ends"

Worth the slight gamble, take what ever you are willing to spend, chop it into a few smaller sizes and just buy smaller packets.

Thats going to be a while.

Strikes me as a long range strategic play on their part. The main factor will be how much noise the smaller OPEC countries make.

in the long run I will go with sasol, the company has been rather dynamic and will somehow tap into shale with the stock then recovering
