LOL.. Did they specifically say that your were invited for a 'braai' though?

yes

As mentioned, I wasn't the only one that brought meat.
What's worse is that they proceeded to braai their protam fries patties right at the end as we were leaving.
It was almost like a "oh thank the lord you're leaving, now we can braai"

:)

We're good friends though so i didn't really care and just told them to give me a fyi next time.

That reminds me when I was invited to a braai at an old friend who is also a veggie.
We stood around the fire as he kept adding wood.
Quite a lot later I asked when folks were braaing because my son was getting hungry.
He looks at me and says no-one is braaing as they're all veggie.

My friend with his 700g rump steak looked rather surprised.

At least they allowed you to braai - I've heard of vegetarians who worry about your meat "contaminating" the braai grid. Or veggies who insist on braaing first.

What difference would braaing first make?

I generally hate soya products but if someone insists on braaing them for me the SO wraps them up in three layers of foil

I also never had a curry induced braai, but fancy the idea and shall indeed add it to my menu one weekend....

Oh! The other thing that rends to happen out here with a bring and braai, the host usually has some steak or speciality wors that he serves up in small finger pieces before the main braai starts....

I normally use Fatima's Tandoori marinade. You can get a bottle from Pick n Pay

I dont know, I've heard of it happening once or twice. Some vegetarians get uppity about cooked meat touching their food. Raw meat I can understand, but not cooked meat.

On braai and blowjob day?

I'm like that

But why? If it's touching the grid it's contaminated anyways. Only option is to use a completely separate veg only grid. Or do the foil layers thing like me :D

foil FTW when we go out and when we home we don't bother since only veggie's are braai'd on it :)

I can understand this.
When I only ate fish I would complain of it tasted like beef.

This is what we always used to do for ourselves when friends came over to braai.

The best braai chop in the world is from Clover butchery in Overport, Durban. It's not a curry marinade, and it's not hot spicy either. Meat is brilliantly tender, sweet and oozing with bbq goodness... Indian braai's OWN :)

there was a point in time that having friends over was like catering for a united nations event.

be it a braai, or whatever, i would supply everything to be consumed.

however, this one is kosher, that one is halal, him over there is vegan, sally here is lactose intolerant - hell, i have even had a pair of fruitarians thrown into the mix.

goat food for all !!!
