Hi guys

I am looking for a few different options for software for a business. All help and input would be appreciated.

The business is getting a complete makeover as the way of doing this currently is by means of invoice and note books.

I do have MS Office 2016 Pro which might work for some of the things I need to be done.

1. Software for Accounting, Invoices, Quotes, Inventory management and reporting. I think my mind is already made to use Sage One Accounting which look to me would be able to do this and more?
Can someone that use this please give me their input and experience.
I see that for the monthly set price you can have 2 users. I see it is possible to add more users. Is it possible to limit what 3rd user can see and access as I do not want 3rd user to see what is going on in bank accounts etc, only needs access to Quoting and Invoicing.

2. Payroll. Again, i think my mind is made on Sage One Payroll but would appreciate someone using this program input.

What I really like about Sage One is that all seems to be integrated, it is in the Cloud and there is local support available and can be accessed anywhere we have Internet Connection.

Is there a fail over a backup for when internet is maybe down?

3. Free Logo design software that is any good? Logo needs to be used for branding on signs and vehicles and all business documents Would like to design logo ourselves

4. Free Business Card design software? MS Office Publisher?

5. Web design software. Will be designing and maintaining website ourselves. I know there are software available that is quite easy to use like Corel Website Creator. Any software that works more or less the same but is better? Hosting will be done through Elitehost

To give the business a make over is going to be quite expensive so free software would be nice, except for Sage One which will have a monthly cost.

Thank you

If you value your business, leave certain elements to professionals.

Brand design and website management would be one.

Exactly this. Companies think because designers charge such a low amount online that it must be easy so they'll just get a cracked version of photoshop and do it themselves. If you want your branding to be a joke do it yourself, unless you're a graphic designer.

Free everything?

I'm using Sage One for payroll and accounting. Nothing wrong with Payroll, but Accounting can only do the accounting side of things, you can't do stock tracking/serial numbers with Sage. (They said 3 years back they would develop that, still waiting)

Yola and Wix are both good for websites just get a domain so you have a legit email and website address.

#1 Sage Online
#2 Sage Payroll
#2a) Failover Internet: An Afrihost Mobile 250mb per month @R1 deal, which you can topup in a pinch - or phone Hotspot. (If desktop, make sure you organize either a Wifi Dongle or get a router with 3G support.)
#3 If the logo will be on signs and even vehicles then you might have to consider getting help with this.
#4 A local "Office and Print" shop where you can sit with someone and explain what you're looking for is usually not that expensive and they can do the printing of the cards as well.
#5 Wix, Squarespace, Wordpress, Google Mail for Business - lots of options.

Hello Heinie, Just worth a mention, by being a Sage One client you automatically qualify for free hosting on their Website Builder - Sage Online Tools. You can also create an eCommerce site and the first 10 products you list also forms part of the offer. They also have design services available. http://www.sageonlinetools.co.za

Inkscape is an incredibly good piece of software for graphics design.

I have the graphics design skills of a fish with two thumbs, yet I managed to make some nice graphics for the lab I was working in:
This was the reference image I used.

After much effort:

3. Most people use fiver. Com or freelancer. Com, fiver is more popular for logo requests from my own experience

4. Same as 3, they can design and send you the print template, then you can jus submit to any print company like jetline

5. I do not know your skill level. But since you on this forum I would imagine you have some technical ability. I personally would check out WordPress, with a theme bought from theme forest. Net. But if you want it super simple and straightforward check wix. Com

They are lots of software to assist in other areas of the business like HR and admin. If you have any experience with web servers. Look at Orange hr and a few other platforms. Google turnkey Linux you will find a plethora of info
