Software For Modelling ERD Diagram - Alternates to Visio 2016

Hi Guys,

I have Visio 2016 Professional installed on my laptop. I would like to reverse engineer my existing database - it is on a VPS Server. I am using Microsoft SQL Server 2016. I know with Visio 2010, it was easy connecting to your database and modelling your tables with relationships. I had a look on Microsoft's website, and this feature is only available as an add-on for Office 365 Visio

So I would like to ask you guys what alternate software could I try? I have tried one from JetBrains (I think it was called DataGrip), however, I couldn't find the option of modelling relationships with Crows foot notation.

What do you guys recommend I try?

If it is a SQL Server database, why not use SQL Server management studio (SSMS) and create a new diagram

Enterprise Architect from Sparx. Does ERD and everything else. Well worth the little money it costs. I model all my stuff using it from business requirements right down to detailed ERD/classes etc.

The diagramming features are superb

SSMS diagramming is actually pretty s.h.i.t IMHO
