Is there any freeware software that allows me to check a .jpg and tell me how much DPI it is and maybe the dimensions.

keyword here guys is FREEWARE :D

It would help if it was so we could install it on the REPS computers so they could use it to check if the quality of the ad is good enough to send through to the production department.

Otherwise, any suggestions, Ideas on other ways to do this is more than welcome.

But isn't that just a general image opening program, sorta like MS paint but able to open alot more file types?

Not exactly, I want to be able to open the image and basically check to see what DPI the image is.

For example, I open a file and i can check the properties and it says 96dpi or 150dpi or something along those lines.

that's what i said. this app does that. i've been using it for ages now. it has detailed info on files.

You could try Paint.NET it's like Photoshop but free!

mercurial: okay, cool, I'll check.
Glordit: thanks, will also check that out.

oooh! sorry for got to say that it requires the .NET framwork but once you have it installed there are 100's of add-on's to tinker with :D

if you're already using winXP, just right click, properties, summary, advanced - no need for additional apps - see here >> http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=1790&ppuser=13759

I second IrfanView. It gives you all the details other programs don't and also lets you change some stuff and optimize them. Can also do batch conversions and renames.
