Black Friday solar and battery deals

South African online shoppers can expect big discounts on solar and backup power products for Black Friday 2024.

Several energy solutions providers and retailers have confirmed to MyBroadband that they would offer deals on solar panels, inverters, and batteries this year.

Getting off the grid should be the rational choice for the vast majority of the population. these sales will either kick-start your journey to freedom, or give you the final mile needed to become independent. Being tied to an exploitative criminal government is not the way you should be leading your life.

Alright, since this is the thread for it, who's seen some decent black Friday (or black November as they're doing these days) solar packages yet?

Waiting for a deal on some 500w panels as well.

Suppliers are having cracking deals, but installers are lacking a bit. Or pocketing the specials, I don't know. Either way, I got a good price for an entire system and I'm going to take it. 8kW Deye inverter, 4 x 5.12kWh Dyness batteries, 18 x Jinko 555W panels, installed with a generator connection for R170k. I do know the installer, so there's a bit of a discount all around, but it's a good price.

Thats a great quote. Received one for R152k for 2x 5kW Sunsynk inverters, 3 x 5.12kWh Dyness batteries, 16 x 550W Canadian/JW panels

Not bad, but go for Deye inverters. Much cheaper, for some reason. Sunsynk also doesn't honor their 10-year warranty if it's not with Sunsynk batteries, whereas Deye honors that with their own batteries, as well as Dyness, Shoto, Volta, and one or two more AFAIK.
