Take a look at:

Dean did my install and @SauRoNZA install. (We both have threads with pics / details you can check out.)

Good service, keeps in touch and is only a Whatsapp away. (they're also close by in Diepriver).
Went for 8kWh Sunsynk, 9.72kWp, 20kWh FreedomWon Lite battery.

Thanks very much have contacted them. Looking over your installs now.

And since then did a lot of work for friends and not an issue anywhere in sight.

Does anyone mind sharing a rough outline on your quote from Dean?

If you find my thread the original invoice is in there but pricing has also gone up.

R193,*** for Sunsynk 8kW + 3 x Dyness 4.8 kWh batteries and 6.3 kWp in Canadian Solar panels all in with registration and installation.

I believe with current pricing you’d get the same but with one less battery for similar money.

Thank you! Will contact for a quote. I have maybe a 20 year old DB board so not sure how that will impact things.

All locked in with Dean. Installation is set for around 15 March.

Total came to R159 000 for;
8kw Deye, 2x Volta Stage 1 (5.12kwh), 8x Jinko 470W half cell mono, Install, CoC and consumables.

Do you plan increasing your array at a later stage?
Is there a benefit to having an array of that size but a larger inverter?

I’m deciding whether to go for 8kw, but adding a large enough stay to take advantage becomes an expensive exercise. Not sure of the benefit of an array smaller than the inverter beside future proofing. Or do I have the wrong end of the stick here?

I do plan on adding panels.

There's no benefit no but the idea behind the bigger inverter is future proofing. It's not necessary now, but I plan at some stage to move fully off grid and the inverter will definitely be needed.

Dean also queried this after he did the site visit.

Thank you for that. I’m grappling with this decision now. Headroom would be good, I’m just trying to understand the other limitations of the system.
Might start my own thread soon.

May I ask why you went with Volta batteries over Dyness? I see that they are the same price.
Just curious, can’t find much info online.

That's what they recommended. Also it seems the Volta is a 1C battery whereas the Dyness is a 0.5C so the Volta has higher discharge rate.

We use about 650 - 700 units a month electricity bill is R1700 (roughly) a month. Have decided on the following

8kw Sunsynk Inverter
5kw Sunsynk Battery (so I can extend warranty on both to 10 years)

I have sourced components myself and will have a sparky install next weekend. House currently runs on 3-phase but we will be moving everything onto a single phase. Have had a second opinion from another sparky and they both say good to go.

Once thats done and we have backup power will source panels and have someone else install them. Have found an installer who is happy to do install only.

8 - 11 panels depending on what’s available (stock super limited)

Will look to run Geyser during daytime and add a second battery a couple months later when supply is less scarce.

Looking at 140k installed and job done.

Thanks. I see it also has 10 year warranty on cells and 5 for BMS vs 5 for Dyness

If u get all that installed @ R 140k (panels included) you've done exceptionally well.

Phase 1 of install is done.

8kw Sunsynk
5kw Sunsynk battery
Wired, connected with some added smart switches for the geyser.
New DB board (updated to DIN and added more space for expansion)
Managed to find twin and earth (10mm) at one hell of a price

All in Im 100k into the build.

Waiting on solar panel stock and then will add those.
