When my installer did their annual inspection a few months ago, they checked the wattage of each panel individually and recorded it. I remember it was on the final checklist that I signed.
Could anyone give me a few recommendations for suppliers and installers in the Gauteng area? We're moving in the next few weeks. Bonus points if any are closer to the Midrand area.

That has got to be the best quote I've ever seen in my life before!View attachment 1771202
Got the above quote. Any thoughts on it?
Moving in a few weeks to a new place. It's just my wife and I for now, plans to add a halfling are in the works.
1x 200L geyser with a 3Kw element. Gas stove, electric oven. No pool.
There is some underfloor heating, but I have no idea how much these draw.
Plans to add a few aircons within a year or so.
The idea is to have a system in place where I don't have to be too concerned about over drawing, tripping inverters etc, and to be able to use power liberally.
Yep, roughly a fifth of my very similar system. I do have a bit more PV but that's not where the money is.That has got to be the best quote I've ever seen in my life before!

Can I put more PV? I am a total noob on this stuff. As I said, I want a system where I don't have to be worried about anything too much.Yep, roughly a fifth of my very similar system. I do have a bit more PV but that's not where the money is.
Or just get a Sunsynk 1p 10kw for +-R3k more than the two 5kw units.Rather change the 2x 5kw inverter to a single 8kw/12kw inverter. The 5kw inverter will clip the current of the PV to 13A.

Thanks, will get some quotes to do this. Although i'm thinking for our max power draw at 1 time, the 8kw should also be more than fine.Or just get a Sunsynk 1p 10kw for +-R3k more than the two 5kw units.
They make the prices look better by only adding vat at the end.For me also
And R13k for labour and CoC HOW?!?!?
I was not being sarcastic at all.Now you guys are making me nervous. The quotes from Cudub. A few people on this thread went with them.
Why pay more for less?Or just get a Sunsynk 1p 10kw for +-R3k more than the two 5kw units.
It doesn’t. I would take the cheaper fanless redundant design.Busy reading through the thread and just saw something about this.

I was advised to go the 2x5kw route for redundancy sake, but if this affects how much power can be pulled from the panels, I'll reconsider.
Still R13k plus 15% is very cheap, nowhere near what I paidThey make the prices look better by only adding vat at the end.
When was your install? Prices have plummeted since the end of last year.Still R13k plus 15% is very cheap, nowhere near what I paid
Finally a decent quote on this thread looks good.. I can't personally vouch for him, but have heard good things. Now you guys are making me nervous. The quotes from Cudub. A few people on this thread went with them.
