Morning all

I have two possible direction the panels can be mounted.

1) North facing has better sun during winter. Nice and hot during winter months.

2) South facing has better sun during summer. Kitchen becomes hotter in summer. You can feel it on the waterpipes.

Movement of sun. easterly coming up , rotational lateral movement from east to south direction. As my engels reg is?

why dont you put both ? Get the infrastructure in for both sides of the roof and then expand the system over time as you can afford. The solar system is modular so you can expand it quite easily once the cabling and stuff is in.

I also want to add. Shade is bad. Very very bad. One shaded panel means zero production pretty much. But as others said north pretty much always best option.

I also highly recommend a sun tracker app so you can see how trees might influence various months. I sat on our rook with the app assing how the sun would interact with trees for the shade to pick optimal spots.

Unless you have a problem with your North facing roof there's absolutely no good reason to put therm anywhere else.
