Afternoon all, Just wanted to ask for some quick advice. I am upgrading my handset to a Samsung i600 on a Procall 300 through Autopage. My understanding is that the i600 comes with 3G/HSDPA functionality built in.

Question is can I buy a "pay as you go" 3 gig data bundle that i can load onto my existing sim so that when i surf the net using the phone I use that Data bundle rather than being charged per meg rates.

I dont want to sign a contract as I will be getting ADSL soon (hopefully) and will use that as primary broadband. HSDPA will just be for out of office stuff and as a stop gap for now.

Any help would be great

Just get a prepaid sim and load airtime on it, then convert that to a data bundle.

Saaayyyy would i be able to convert free minutes into data (wishful thinking :))

You don't need another sim, you can add a data bundle onto your current number. They will charge you monthly until you cancel it.

That sounds okay. And the dont have any issues with cancelling it? Would it be worthwhile calling the mtn contact center? Do they know anything about this or am i wasting my time with them

Im confident that the call centre can load a bundle, otherwise they wouldnt be employed.

riiiight..

you guys really do paint that call centre with a sticky brush, i mean bear in mind that this be an adsl forum dealing with technical things, so i wouldnt expect too much out of an accounts department, simple things like loading data bundles on a contract i assure you can be done.
