I perceived a definite drop in speed to local sites, specifically those hosted on the IS network. The problem seems to be gone now, however, neither SAIX nor IS have listed or reported a fault.
Specifically, ABSA's internet banking site was almost inoperable until about 30 minutes ago. That might be an unrelated problem though, as they were much slower than the other sites we tried.
Sites hosted on SAIX itself, or on UUnet, did not seem to be effected.
It might also be that JINX had experienced a problem, but we would never know since the ISPA seem to have a hard time posting up-to-date fault reports.
