I have some old computer parts, pretty sure they are working. There is a celeron processor, a Fujitsu 4.32GB Hardrive, an Intel Motherboard, A Sound Vision sound card, and a Geforce FX 5200 graphics card. Here are some pictures: http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=1955&cat=500

I dunno if I could get anything for them? Or if anyone is interested?:)

Thanks for the help!

No not yet, want a few opinions on what, if anything... I can get for it.

I see. I am guessing not that much. Perhaps post the specs of the CPU and the mobo then you might be lucky...

Then I would say you would be lucky to get much at all. Might find someone who will at least take it off your hands for free...Then you don't have to bin it.

The 5200 might generate a bit of interest.

That's the thing... I don't want to throw it away.

Well I would stick it in Classifieds, ask for offers, see if you can get anything out of it that way. Someone may well offer to come and take it off your hands at least...

Agreed, put it in the classifieds and see what you get offered.

The only buyer I could think of is someone trying to fix an "irreplaceable" PC

Apart from the FX5200, that stuff is really old - ISA slots, ISA sound card. The stuff in the picture has no value.

Ya dude, try giving it away to a good home. Can't see anyone finding much use for it, cept for maybe the 5200.

Find yourself a psu, chassis, and at least 128mb sdram for it, and build yourself a dedicated linux firewall / bsd firewall / wifi router / nas server!

In Jawug, we use components like that on a lot of our highsites, and as dedicated firewalls!

I have about 20 assorted P1's, P2's, P3's which I have assembled for just this purpose!

FreeNAS is great :)
