Huge problems at Raru

Reputable and well-established online store Raru has faced a barrage of complaints from customers saying they have struggled to get refunds from the company after unreasonable delivery delays.

The once-beloved company has seen its aggregate review score on Hello Peter plummet, with 486 reviews out of 610 (80%) giving it a 1-star rating. Another 23 reviewers gave it two stars.

It really is a sad mess. Take 2 was one of the first online stores I ever bought from.

dammit.... my order is 3 weeks overdue.

A personal anecdote:

Back in 2019 (3 Oct 2019, to be precise), I placed an order that included two relatively obscure books.

Raru originally estimated it would ship the items by 25 October 2019.

They only finally shipped 1 year and 4 months later — on 25 June 2020.

I used Raru a few times since then — twice in 2020 (including during lockdown) and once in 2021 — no hassles except for one item that had a misleading listing, for which they ultimately refunded me.

I ordered in April with a June date of receiving, excuse after excuse on why it never arrived, isn't on this shipment blah blah, yet still advertised as available in 21 days. Eventually cancelled it, went through the Consumer goods board and got my money back.

They have been doing this same thing for years.

Go to SAGamer and have a lookieloo, they've been a joke and "refunding" people for eons.

If you haven't paid yet, don't. If you have...sorry ne.

I know some people have had luck by going to the ombudsman.

This entire Raru situation is eerily sounding very similar to the complaints about PC Link Computers before their collapse.

Huge red flags and it's starting to look like they might be playing musical chairs with the money, using new orders money to refund customers who make the biggest stink, not surprised the owners didn't want to speak on the record they are probably looking for an exit before the whole thing collapses.

Used them before, was ok. Waiting for an order now that was overseas on half, supposed to have shipped on the 10th Oct but still waiting.
