Seeing as this is one of my top go to stores for games and stuff, I can't help but wonder when it is my time to face issues.

It does seems that this store is having cash flow issues.

I think as long as items are actually in stock you might be okay. My one book took almost 3 months to get to me, and then I started reading the horror stories on MYBB. Unfortunately they aren't what they used to be, used to be great to buy imported goods.

When did these issues start? The last time I ordered through Raru was back in 2020, and the process was good considering that the items weren't readily available in SA. Did wait awhile, but I knew I would wait.

I reckon at least since 2021. Perhaps 2020.

Rather safe than Raru...

I did find this part of the article interesting...

"Takealot’s ratings on Hello Peter are also dominated by 1-star reviews, albeit in smaller proportions than Raru’s. Loot’s ratings are a similar story.

Raru, Takealot, and Loot’s HelloPeter TrustIndex ratings (out of ten) are 1.6, 2.1, and 2.5, respectively."

The HelloPeter TrustIndex solely looks at the firms responsiveness and ratings on their website.

Needless to say their instrument to measure service trust is not trustworthy. However Raru has a far smaller customer base than Takealot and there seems to be plenty of cashflow issues.

Raru just needs to start being honest about when their customers can expect their packages.

I am also a "victim" to this practice of Raru. Item showed in stock. Placed order and did eft then after 2 days was informed out of stock. I requested a refund because the replacement is also out of stock and each week goes to next week then month end comes and goes...They owe me abt 2k...this was 2 months ago...now i also hav to wait 15 to 30 "days"....how do u go about to ensure u get refunded before this bloody place goes poof!!! Ive never ever ever in my life came across such bad business practices

The imported stuff I ordered generally took some time when I used to order, but not as bad as SAPO when I ordered from China. Although I already got some bad vibes back then. But at least I got my stuff

Ecommerce in SA is a joke. Takealot has become a general dealer where you're never sure who you're buying from. Raru stocks all of the stuff Take2 used to have which isn't available elsewhere so I understand they can have issues with their supply chain but there should be honesty and quick refunds in the case where items can't be procured. It seems Loot is the only good option left that has most electronic items and if you don't get an item you get a refund quickly.
