Some Raru customers are struggling to get refunds on delayed and cancelled orders

I did find this part of the article interesting...

I miss the days when HelloPeter actually had some clout and helped keep legitimate businesses in line. Now even Google Reviews are more effective.

Why aren't they refunding you? I got mine after 10 days

I ordered an item that was in stock then upon enquiring a few days later I was told the item will be available when they receive it from the "supplier" within 3 to 5 days...then 3 to 5 days became 2 weeks. I was patient then it became a month and I told them I cannot wait that long as I stated from the 1st correspondence the item was needed. urgently. With alot of back and forth and Raru pushing back the date I opted to take another similiar priced item that was also supposedly to be in stock and after 3 days again I was told they are waiting for the item from "supplier". When u ask them a straight up question they do not answer you directly and blame the "supplier". Then when i initiated the refund i was told my account will be credited and i can choose a different replacement whereby i told them no i want my money back then was told it will take 15 to 30 days. When i told them i am not going to wait 15 to 30 days this bronwynne send me email saying it within their right cos of the electronic transaction and communications act stipulates a company is given 15 to 30 days...so I am waiting now for this 15 to 30 days to expire and see what will happen in the meantime i have taken recourse....

You can't do a charge back after a month, most of the time the product is supposed to arrive after a month.

And always blaming this "supplier". The website states dispatched within 3 to 5 days"...and right there is where u are fooled...then i asked who this supplier is they give you the run around...they can be upfront and just tell you they cannot source this item as China or Istanbul or wherever they import it from and do u want to order an alternative item from a local supplier or want a refund...no...what they do is tell you 2 to 3 days..then 4 to 5 days..then another week...BS if you ask me

And these companies can sue you when you do an honest 1 out of 5 review...for loss of income etc...

Trusted is a strong word.

But granted that when things go wrong you can usually count on getting a refund in a week or less.

Reliability or empathy is the correct determinant used if we referring to service quality.

Raru is engaging in the practice of overselling products and using other customer's funds to pay refunds. It will eventually collapse.

They better ensure I get my f..ing money back before they go poof...blerrie skelms

I waited super long for my refund that when it did come through I was surprised. Like finding money inside an old pair of jeans you forgot about years ago that fashion has changed since then. But yea - stay away is all I can say. 20ft pole or longer if possible between you and them.

Raru has long been off my list of online shopping. I cannot say I am surprised by this news. Remembering how fantastic their service used to be, this is sad news.

I think as long as items are actually in stock you might be okay. My one book took almost 3 months to get to me, and then I started reading the horror stories on MYBB. Unfortunately they aren't what they used to be, used to be great to buy imported goods.

And here I was happily ordering away cos the website showed the items in stock...alas....that was the beauty in its simplicity...and the bold dispatched within 3 to 5 days....
