I'm guessing the next article in going to be how many money they owe

Seems like this article was the final nail in the coffin.

I would say RIP, Raru, but I have a feeling its going to be far from peaceful..

Take2 was born out of the ashes of TheShoppingMatrix which took a lot of creditor's cash down with it when it went kablooie - back then you could still bootstrap a successful ecommerce general merchant and I think some hard lessons about stock were learned before the Smiths launched T2. But by the time Raru came about it was a damn site harder to get off the ground, a far greater expectation of in-stock rather than lead time, and a lot more capital required, especially with the sheer volume of cash the big boys have been pissing away to build market share over the last decade (some like Everyshop not so successfully) -- will be sad if another 'independent' bites the dust but alea jacta est...

I don't think you are going to garner much sympathy for them here. They knew what they were getting themselves into. And it does not justify their nigh-on fraudulent business practices lately.

Not trying to garner sympathy for anyone - and having been in the cashflow-strapped situation before (albeit almost two decades ago) the Raru team should have been able to recognise the signs -- I do think that there was a belief that they could bounce back into business once the restraint of trade ended post the T2 sale, and could do it all again easily enough. And then it proved significantly harder than expected. Having watched an endless cycle of month-end coupons and stock clearances I am not surprised if things have finally crumbled, I do confess to being surprised at how it has played out though...

Annoying, lodged dispute with bank now, not taking a chance anymore.
