Dongle works fine(ish) plugged straight into my Macbook Pro but in the router it gives endless hassles, disconnects, only gets EDGE, stays connected but no throughput. It is a nightmare.

Does anyone have any hot tips?

Power problem are typical for this modem. Router must be supplied from its own power supply. If you use USB extension, they usually do not work.

Interesting... I am aware that the Speedstick has a slot for a power source, is this what you are referring to?

I am not using a USB extension (although I have and it works just fine) and I have no issues using the same modem/router with an 8ta sim.

I am wondering if there is a specific issue pertaining to Cell C on this one...?

Plug the modem into a pc and there set it to "manual network selection" and choose Cell C. Also set the band selection to 3G/WCMDA only.

Yes, good advice - I have done this already. Question: do you know if this sets it for the modem itself? (ie: plugging it into the router after that retains these settings...)

It's stored on the modem, yes.

Maybe you should connect router using Ethernet cable (with wireless radio turned off). If works, then there are similar cases in this thread:

Generally CellC Black dongle power requirements give many problems, possibly not good combination with your router, see quote:

This friend of mine's issues were with his K4505 modem and not the wireless connection. And I say "were" because since changing to the E367 he has had very little issues at all.
