Hi guys,

Not getting anything on CellC tonight - not in Pta East or Montana. Any ideas?

Getting data at a couple of kilobits/s... Slow enough that Google won't even load...

No Cell C

Stay by Alberton/Germiston border and also got No Cell C.
There was connecton in the early evening but it was a bit slow and a lot of disconnects. Also yesterday there were a lot of disconnects but the speeds were okay with me.
I've just over 700MB but I'm going to loose it. Was doing some downloads.
Tried calling the call center without any success after 26 minutes.

I'm not going to loose that 700MB. Cell C owes me as it is not my fault.

Yeah, was dead for me too, but it's now working again.

EDIT: It's very slow though.

Yesterday's evening, it did not want to transfer data (just sends requests up, but not anything down), resulting in time-out on every website.

Also lost connection in Pretoria East late yesterday afternoon; signal strength very low. Glad to say that this morning its back to normal (99%).
Guess I was lucky - I had already used up almost all of my 2GB data! I was impressed to receive an advisory sms from CellC when my data dropped to 250MB, good for you CellC!

I had zero action on CellC last night as well, from about 18:00 everything was dead. I would connect and would load mybb and it would stall. I tried for almost 45minutes and gave up.

Really crappy if you ask me.

Peeps. I would suggest two things;

1) If you can afford it, switch to Vodacom. I'd used my cap on the 26th, couldnt load a once off bundle cos I had already used one in March so I grudgingly had to use my voda line. Its been a week of bliss (notice how I haven't posted on the forum)

2) During the month work out what your average daily consumption is and once a week use up any 'excess' data u have, that way come month end you won't need to try and use everything up last minute

Other than that, 13c/meg for something consistent (Vodacom) is better than 5c/meg for something that is crap and makes you constantly want to slit your wrists

This issue will happen every month end without fail. Everyone tries to use their remaining data on the last few days of the month... hence the CellC towers/network is totally overloaded and cannot cope. The result is very slow speeds or totally dysfunctional connections! I blame CellC for this 100% the chosen business model and the fact that there's no data carry over will kill the network for the last 2/3 days of every month!

Yeah same issues here.
I've learnt that this will happen every month end so I managed to use up all my data on the 29th, then got a small Vodacom bundle for the rest of the month.
It's inconvenient, but it's part of their learning curve I guess.

I had no throughput from about lunchtime onwards (yesterday), despite a full signal. It came right for a few hours in the earlier part of the evening, but then the problem reappeared.

This morning, it was fine, but a half hour or so ago, the signal dropped markedly. I have had to move the modem to the window in order to get a 60% signal.

What's going on, Cell C?

it's everyone attempting to use their remaining data before month-end roll-over! Brings the network to a stand still!

I have 2 black speedsticks, was not usable yesterday and still the same today although I can intermittently load pages slowly.
The data on the cards have been reset and recharged, 1st day of a new month and no change, bang goes your theory BGE.

Something else afoot here.
