Hot air ?go to the Sinotech thread if you want to see some fanboism of people who want there R6k screen to look like the Bravia's.

I personally have an LG so no bias here. But i have seen sinotech's next to Bravia's and samsungs, set up right. sure if you only see the sinotech you think its quite good and not a bad screen. Then you put it next to the bravia and you realise, wow looks like the sinotech has no colour no vibrance etc etc.

The only way you can really compare them is if you fiddle with the brightness/contrast yourself and not leave it on default or for the salesman to do it. When I went to Game a couple of weeks ago and told a salesperson I wanted the 47" Sinotec, she acted all shocked and horrified. She strongly suggested I go for a similarly priced Samsung 40" but could not say why....just that it is "better". Eventually managed to convince her that I did my research and was set on the Sinotec.

Didn't your women tell you? The extra inches matter the most! :p

Seriously though, the Sinotec is just as good as your low series Sonys... so go for the size unless you're willing to pay the extra bucks.

these 2 are in the same price range.. Does the V series fall under the low series Sony's? I thought that was the S series.. I know the W series is much better but way outta my price range!

Er no, it's not. It's maybe not 25% better as the price would suggest, but the lowest Sony has a better panel (later generation), the Sony will be using an "A" grade panel, the BRAVIA engine is superior to Sinotec's video engine, and build quality will be better. Is it worth the price difference? Well that's the decision that has to be made.

Hey Salex, I had similar situation LG LH35 vs Bravia V550, I took the Bravia V550. Whats annoying about the Sony is cant play Divx via the USB , if you buy the Sony BD it wont either. So ive settled on the Bravia with LG BD (plays Divx). I couldnt have made a better choice for the price.

search is over, went with the sinotec 47" and 100% satisfied. In store next to the bravias etc the qualiity of the sinotec is slightly inferior, but in the lounge it looks like the bomb! Xbox gaming on that size is an absolute dream, for the pc i'll have to get another graphics card cos i think i got on-board graphics atm. (how do i check this?) i just hope the sinotec can perform this way for the next 5 yrs! Tnx 4 all the advice guys

The T is the budget, then comes the S, then the V and W, the boss is the X and the BIG BOSS is the Z.
old spec is the 300 series, being outphased at the moment is the 400 range, new range is the 550.

Good choice! They're great with warranties if it doesn't perform. 5 years. :D

Open the case, does your monitor plug into a port that comes off the motherboard, or is it plugged into the port of a separate card in one of the mobo's slots...
