hey all
im trying to find the difference between these two
maybe someone can help or point me in the direction of another forum that can

im looking at the current offerings from sony namely the
klv-40v550 - BE3 @ 11500 on special normally 12k
klv-40w550 - BE3 + 100hz motionflow @ 16500 on special normally 18k

klv-40x450 - BE2pro + 100hz motionflow @ 17k ave online price 24k

so far there is no x-series with BE3
i can get the w and x series for similiar prices
but the x is older than the newer w
iniatialy the v-series was wat i wanted, but not sure if i should delve into this whole motionflow issue?

i think my main concern is how much better the bravia engine 3 is compared to the BE2 pro? if its not much different i think the x-series is a good deal?

what would u recommend? or should i just forget the x-series, buy the v-series and suround sound with the change?

All I know is get 100hz ... you won't be sorry.

I checked the 46v550 and 46w550 and the only difference was the 100hz (yet many, many thousands ...). I assumed it didn't make much difference - until he showed me the difference :/ Pretty large!

I ended up with a 100hz screen (not Sony though)

Yea I got the Samsung B650 - awesome TV IMHO.

The place I went where they demo'd the difference was Digital Experience in Fourways Crossing. The sales person - George - offered advice and knowledge that no one else did. Ask him for the speedboat demo ;) You'll see the writing on the speedboat as it moves across.

The best price on the deals when I bough a few weeks ago was :

Sony 46v550 was R19,000.00 (50hz)
Sony 46w550 was R26,000.00
Samsung 46B650 was R22,000.00

It fitted perfectly in the middle of the Bravias

Thanks for that confirmation! Someone argued that fact not to long ago, he's argument was it's a sale gimmick and would do nothing for countering the motion blurr.

on the topic, the guys at digital experience are quite knowlegable... not sure on all the advantages of 100Hz tho, but, maybe that is cause i am running my TV off a PC. The screen is a Samsung LA40A650, so it is 100Hz if I remember correctly...

Was it me?

In all honesty, it sounds like something I would say and something I did belieive - until I saw it myself.

Nope not at all, another expert wise crack. I should tell the story at a Makro where they demo/display these new HD LCD screens.... never mind will take to long. :D
