Calling all SE V800 users, I am just trying to find out if your phone also develops cracks in the round hinge part?

My SE of 18 months has cracks on either side, the phone now has a connectivity issue and Vodacare are claiming the phone is now no longer under warantee because it has physical damage.

Funny thing is that they made one repair to the keypad and at the same time quoted me about R 260.00 to replace the cover, now that I have sent it back for the signal problem they are saying its going to cost me R 1000.00 to replace the cover before they can send it to JHB for an advanced repair.

Must be a fine print issue again..

Mine also developed cracks at the hinges. Have dropped it a few times, but never directly on the hinges. Would seem to be a build quality issue.

Anyway, it's a long shot calling it physical damage.

Luckily I'm due an upgade next month

My previous phone was a SE V800, its hinge is also cracked. In fact, there is a chip in that hinge. My son is using it now, but the crack doesn't appear to affect the working of the phone.

My wife, who is a very careful user, also has a SE V800 and one of its hinges also has a crack. Both phones are just over two years old.
