Seems Sony is going thru some major bad changes, the batteries suck, the PS3 is gonna suck, their Blue-ray does'nt even play frikken blueray DVD's.

At the price it is going to be they can shove it, will wait for prices to drop a lot and just get a XboX360 till then.

At first I was looking forward to the PS3 so much it was crazy..... now I hear anything and it makes me sad thinking back to how awesome it could have been.

For me, it's a Wii this year, and hopefully a 360 once there's a bit of a price drop.

That might actually be a good idea. Will first have to try Wii but it should be good and way cheaper than either the 360 or PS3.

Around R6k for a PS3 is just too much and say what you want anyone who buys it at that price is IMO bloody stupid.

360 at R3600 is almost half the price, still a bit much but way better and with Vista coming that might be a nice combo.

You guys do realize that that story is apparently from a very unreliable source right? Whatever, I'm waiting till PS3 is out, the specs are confirmed, the games and systems are compared, and the price war begins before I make my decision.

550MHz down to 500MHz is not going to make a massive difference. Sure it'll have an effect on overall fill-rate but reall it's 400MPixels/sec less on the single texture. not realy something to cry about.
At any rate it'll still be many times faster than 6600GT

Right now however, XBOX360 is vastly superior. in the order of at least 1.5X.

50MHz may not seem a lot...but it is when you are paying big bucks...ask any high end graphic card owner. When you are paying that much you expect it to be GREAT. and that drop of 50MHz gives a sinking...over priced feeling (at least to me)

Consider that that "50Mhz" drop is an overall 10% drop in performance, that's not 'nothing'.

By the time Sony are done, you're going to have a glorified DVD player that plays historical Japanese games about Ridge racing giant crabs. Well I guess MGS4 should definitely be worth R7000!
