Ended up getting the Z3 really impressed with the phones.

I compared it to my trusty S3 (I'd keep that if it wasn't for a intermittent signal error) - The Compact is about the same size, and the Z3 a tad bigger. I'll probably flip a coin tomorrow when picking mine up.

Don't forget the Z3 Compact has exactly the same specs as the Z3 and Galaxy S5, only display that's smaller.

In short, it is actually a premium phone.

I held one of the Z3 demos at vodacom and it felt substantially bigger than my S4, the device is too tall for my liking... But the finishes are nice

They didn't have a Z3c demo unfortunately, but having had a S2, it was a great size, so I look forward to that and this screen is bigger!!! Itching to get this phone
