the Sony Smart Band wasn't really cutting it for me so I bought the SmartBand Talk SW30 for use with the Xperia Z3 Compact - I really didn't want a Pebble or any of the current android wear watches.

Call quality is great - both for receiving and making calls - Sony calls it HD.

I just downloaded the relevant app to my Z3C and started adding apps (it will work with any android device with 4.4.4). It can hold up to 9 apps at any one time. The tracker (which can be used independently of the phone) syncs with the excellent Lifelog application. The band also displays all the relevant smartphone applications (which can be adjusted from the app). The display is reversible (black on white or vice versa) as is the text orientation depending on whether you wear it on the left or right wrist.

It looks stunning with its curved display - easily the best looking band I've seen. Here are some shots of the app:

It looks fantastic, now I will also have to get one...but my heart is still on the Moto360. :)

Damn, you are gonna make me poor!

It was a cash purchase from Amazon - I probably paid over the odds at £140 but it was the only place I could get it from as Sony UK couldn't guarantee stock.

Best apps are the media controls, weather, calendar, audio recorder, phone app etc. besides the built in tracker. There aren't too many apps available yet as it is so new, but I'm sure Sony will be adding more.

It's miles better than a pebble - higher res screen, looks-wise, e-ink as opposed to transflective LCD etc.
