The screen of the Z3 is not full HD.
Now i Know Full HD is not everything, it would have been nice to have it.

The screen of the Xperia Z3 Compact is as good as my iPhone 5 in every way. Now, that wasn't always the case with Sony phones; they used to be sub-par with poor viewing angles and blurry screens prior to the Z1, but they have upped their game. And having a 720p screen helps enormously with the insane battery life I get on the Z3C.

They are indeed good, but nothing compared to the htc One M8. htc<<Sony<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Every other smartphone.

Of course, certain fanbois will tell you that the crappy Samsung S5 or Note 4 speakers are not even needed, but that's another story.
Going by your math: Htc less than Sony much less than every other smartphone?

Got my Z2 today.
Hopefully this turns into a long and loving relationship.

Congratulations! Enjoy your new phone! :)

I reckon I will get myself the Z3 Compact, because it supports Telkom LTE.

Bought myself a Huawei B593 LTE router over the weekend and the speeds are absolutely insane on this thing.

I think if there is one weak point of the Z3C, it's probably the camera; I have been ill and have not been out to take pictures with it, but all the reviews from camera-phone buffs say that it is not that great compared with the opposition. But certainly good enough for 90% of users.

I wonder if it's not Sony's software that's causing them to say so?

Maybe use Google's camera software from the Play Store? Also check what other phones are used for comparison and the tests.

Yes.

Ok, but I've read a few reviews and the camera is good, but not great.

See this review for an explanation of the camera : http://www.cnet.com/products/sony-xperia-z3-compact/2/

For me it's more than enough, I am not keen on taking 20MP shots in any case, 8MP is fine.

I believe it's a software issue - it's essentially the same module from the Z1 with similarly unspectacular results. If you have the patience to fiddle about with the manual settings, though, I believe you can get some great shots.

For me, it's the least important part of the phone - I would be much less forgiving about weak audio or a poor screen.

Yea, I'm not too fussed tbh, a G3 is big enough for me to use as a tablet. Just want the damn thing now, been holding out since rumours of the Z2 compact

Yup, nowadays we actually pay extra if we still want a "normal sized" smartphone. :(

The Z3 Compact is almost exactly the same size as my Galaxy S2, so I am extremely keen as well.

I could easily operate my S2 with one thumb.

Exactly. I miss my S2 so bad. And an S2 sized phone with a good cpu, big battery, nice screen and nice camera, bloody ideal!

Then add LTE reception & it's just the best little Android in the universe. :)

Will have to get the black one.
