What do you mean by foreign influence? And why do you post in this thread, anyway, if you have no interest in the Z3C or its accessories?

I like the phone. I think it's a awesome phone for it's size.

About the influence, you figure it out. Luckily we have choices.

This is what I will be getting I think, very much a fan of minimal cases...

Will obviously look better with the black case on the black phone

So, anyone want to give us a small review of the experiences with the phone so far?

I have that case, very solid.
Just make sure your screen protector is installed correctly or it lifts it.

That looks nice, Im also keen on getting something similar - Where did you order / buy the case from and how much does it go for?

It was given to me as a gift so I'm not sure.
Somewhere in Cape Town, I can find out if you need me to.

So, anyone want to give us a small review of the experiences with the phone so far?

I've had my phone for 2 months now. Here is my experience:

Build

Brilliant. It feels extremely good in the hand, a very premium feel with the glass. If you dont have a cover then it is very slippery on every surface you put it on, but in hand i do not find the slipperiness a problem.
Flaps on the side are fine, no issues. The black glass tends to scratch if left on surfaces with coarse dust, but thats what covers are for :). Durability wise, don't drop it, its glass, i havn't tested it and i dont intend to.

Battery

Exceptional. 2 days normal usage very easily. Currently on my day to day usage i take phone off charge at about 6:30am. by 4:00pm when i go home my battery is usually on 60%. Thats with 3G permanently on(which sucks most of the battery cause of Cell C). Whatsapp + facebook + email used through out the day, about 2 hours of music listening in that period.
On average when i put my phone on charge at 10:30pm+- i have 40% battery left. Stamina + Ultra stamina modes boost the life much much longer which is really useful.

Camera

Good. Sonys post processing messes some photos up (too much sharpness on plants for example) but overall i am happy with the snaps it takes. Underwater photos come out awesomely :D Tested this like 5 or 6 times in the pool, works great, quality and focusing is superb underwater.

UI

I enjoy Sony's take on the UI. Minimalistic but customizable, enough to not think about rooting. The bloat they include is okay, it never gets in the way and doesn't take up much space or hinder the phone in any way, quite a few useful apps to be honest. The transitions between every screen/app/game is extremely smooth as expected. Double tap to wake is awesome. Browsing on chrome/FF is extremely smooth. It comes pre-installed with office suite 7 which is nice :)
Tested NFC file transfer with my S3 and it was the easiest thing, phones back to back, tap done.

Screen

Everyone moaning its a 720p screen. So what, its 4.6", you don't need 1080p for this size, i have absolutely no issues with it. Text + pics are crisp and clear. people also complained about colours not representing(?) properly, well they included balances so you can set your RGB to what you see fit. The auto-brightness works well too and doesn't drain as much battery as i thought, i've used it since i got my phone and its works great in all scenarios.

Gripes

I'm still trying to find something bad with this phone. Maybe the vibration when typing on the keyboard is a bit too strong (even at the lowest setting), doesn't bother me though.

In the past i've owned the HTC Desire, Nexus, 2x S3's, Lumia 920, S4 and this is by far the best phone i've ever ever had. Not a single regret :D

--Edit : Adding in my battery test from the other thread, give you a full breakdown
"
Ok battery test.

Phone was charged to 97% yesterday at 1pm, i took it off charge.

Following passive things were on the entire time:
Mobile Data (Used for 4 hours but remained on)
WiFi (used for rest of the time)
GPS Location
LifeLog (for the purpose of this test)
Double tap to wake is enabled
Google Now is enabled
Screen Brightness set to auto adjust

LifeLog results, to see how much i used of each thing:
Total Music Playtime: 3 hours
Total Social Media time (twitt,fb,instagram etc): 1 hour 10 minutes
Video playback via youtube app : 16 minutes
Total Browsing time : 16 minutes
Total Game time: 6 minutes

Okay so thats just life log results for basic things. Other things i used it for done during the day.
WhatsApp has been in use throughout the entire day + night + morning, quite heavily.
I downloaded 6 games all 50mb +-
I used tapatalk for an estimated 20 minutes in total.
I have taken 25 photos
I have used the gmail app for about 5 minutes in total
Line used throughout the day

Currently my battery is sitting at 33%. Estimated time left at this use is 11 hours (22 hours in standby mode)
Time since last charge 22Hr 27min. Screen has taken up 41% of the usage.

So ya so far i am thoroughly impressed with the battery life, all my other phones would last maybe 18 hours max, considering i have been using this phone heavily since its last charge. "

Just two things,

Can you change the network mode, specifically, can you set it to run on either gsm/wcdma/gsm+wcdma/lte?

also, does it have the fast charge/quick charge feature and how does it fare?

Yep Network mode comes in 4 variants.

WCDMA only
GSM Only
WCDMA (preffered)/GSM
4G(Preferred/WCDMA/GSM.

No quick charge feature as far as i'm aware, but it charges pretty quickly. I would say 2-3hrs for full charge, havent tested it so not sure

You can purchase a separate quick charge charger.

I'm in Durban, so if it's a local store then it may not be that useful. Thanks anyways.

Buy it online, as I intend on doing so. There will probably poor availability of a wide range of cases for the Z3 compact in stores, since it's not one of the best sellers...
