It's like you're saying you're getting a Mini, but keeping your Hilux just in case.

Makes no sense.

It makes perfect sense. I know I have a great phone that doesn't need replacement yet. And just because I can upgrade I'm getting a phone that looks great on paper.

But I'm not willing to sit with a phone for 6 months if I'm not happy with it. So I think it's a great idea to keep my Note3 in the drawer white I'm testing the Z3c.

If it works for me, I keep on using it. If not, I pass it on to my son.

So, anyone managed to get any accessories, specifically cases and those strengthened glass type screen protectors, in and around Jhb?
Not too keen on online as delivery times might be a bit long.
I've not seen many accessories for the z3 or the compact (in Durban). Most shops I went to that had anything just had the the "book" case (with the useless front flap) in random colors.

I picked up a black case mate "tough" case from cellucity in gateway mall, Umhlanga. It looks like it could absorb the impact from a fall, but seems a little bit bulky because it has 2 covers, an inner soft cover and an outer tough cover. It also has openings for magnetic charger or dock in addition to all the regular ports. If there's a branch close to you, try them out. They did have a few other options too.

I saw a tempered glass cover at the mtn store in the same mall but didn't bother as I'm happy with my screen protector for now. Will try one out soon.

Can't seem to find a magnetic cable anywhere. Most shops have never even heard of one. Any suggestions from those that have acquired one?
As a last resort I may order a dock and an extra charging cable from ebay and pray it finds its way through out postal mess.

It seems as though the charging cable is a 3rd party thing. Not officially made by Sony.

So for you it's a massive upgrade. I'm still keeping my Note3. Just incase. Lol.
I'm coming from a note 2. I love the small size of the Z3c. The first day was a little awkward since the screen felt so small and the button placement is different to the note. However, now I just feel liberated - I don't even realize I have the phone on me sometimes! I'm going to keep the note for another week and then may pass it on or sell it.

The Z3c is a great phone. Im definitely keeping mine. But if you're coming to this device from a phablet you may miss:
1. The larger screen size.
2. KEYBOAAAAARD. This small screen also means tiny keyboard, so the keys are packed together like sardines. Expect plenty of typos initially.

If you are using SwiftKey, you can resize your keyboard to five larger/smaller sizes. ;)

I cannot believe that Piesang will have a Z3 Compact before me!! :(

I'm very loyal. I could've gone and collect it today but I'm trying two get it transferred to another store. I always do my upgrades at the same girl.

She first worked at Cape Gate, and then she was transferred to Zevenwacht Mall. I go where she goes.

I hope the other store will agree to send the phone to her. I really don't want too going to anyone else. Her service is the best.

Awesome. I am using SwiftKey. Will definitely give this a try. Thanks!

When the keyboard is in front of you, hold down the bottom left key, until a menu pops up.

One of the functions there is "Resize". Enjoy!

SwiftKey is awesome on big and smaller devices. My wife use it on her S4mini. I've typed on her phone a couple of times and it's not that bad.

Z3c is bigger than the S4mini, isn't it?

Is that good or bad?

The normal Z3 is incredibly sleek and thin and nice to hold. If you're really worried about size.

No, it's all good!

Just a bit surprised, as I gave my S2 to my brother's daughter and got used to the S5.

Anything smaller than the S5 will be absolute bliss!!

Just to chime in about charging time.. If you're charging overnight, stick to the stock charger or perhaps something even as low as 1A. Keeps your phone cooler and the battery will stay in good condition longer. 2A works for quick charges but it does warm up the phone and in turn shorten the battery's lifespan.
