Do they know yet when it will be available?
In MTN's Yello Trader is just says "Coming Soon".

The specs in that small size is really a great selling point for me.
One last thing, if you're asking your service provider for the Z3 or Z3c , please be sure to specify that it's the Sony Xperia Z3. When I mentioned Z3 to CellC they tried to hook me up with a Blackberry Z3.
Guys why are you doing this, when my upgrade is due August 2015![]()
No, that's utter madness!I saw Vodacoms pricing, i think they made a stuff up!
the Z3 and Z3 compact is the same price, can that be right?

I can't find it on their web site or in the Vodacom shop brochure....care to share?
Did Sony make both phones the same price?
MtN has the Compact at R100 at all price points.
I think the rep is smoking something illegal.![]()
I'm willing to pay that per month for a decent phone.
Pros
Let's start by addressing some of the Android stereotypes that fanboys of other platforms love to bring up. That is, "LAG, random reboots, slows down after a days use"
I've been using the phone since October 17 and I've experienced no lag, no reboots the phone is the fastest handset I've used (as an app developer I've used devices from various manufacturers).
As for the battery life. I'm currently at 70% remaining after 1 day and 7 hours since my last charge. I'm not going to add anything more to that.
I've downsized screens from Galaxy Note, to S4 and now to the Xperia Z3 compact and I believe that I have finally found the perfect sized handset for daily use.
About the whole 720P vs 1080P thing, at the current screen size you're not going to notice the difference unless you use a magnifying glass while operating the device.
Cons
Sound quality can be excellent, by default it's not. The phone has built in equaliser settings and if you tweak those you can get some really good results.
Regarding the camera, if you use the default settings (Superior Auto) you won't be able to use the 20MP camera, that can only be done in manual mode. I do think that the camera could be better with software tweaks, messing around with different camera apps has given me varying results, in some cases the pictures are excellent, in others they're mediocre at best.
The flaps on the phone are supposed to last for a long time but I would rather not keep clipping them out in order to charge therefore I have purchased a magnetic charger to refill the battery. I just think that Sony should have included the magnetic charger, had to spend an extra R499 for that.
Accessories are not as easily available as those from other manufacturers (Samsung, Apple). I've found some okay looking cases online but I would really like to see some in a few in our local stores.
The free bundled screen protector is welcome but the matte finish takes away from the overall beauty of the device, recommend that you get a gloss tempered glass protector to replace it as soon as possible.
