First impressions after an evening with the phone, bearing in mind my previous phone was an Xperia V:

Likes

Very fast performance
Quick startup/restart
Much better sound during phone calls
Doesn't heat up as much as the V, esp when playing with the camera

Dislikes

Icon size is too big, cannot fit as many as I did on the V
Unable to resize icons
Not as easy to access settings with the new drop down slider, and cannot choose to have quick settings only

Now to find a glove/case

Use two finger swipe to go directly to quick settings

[-]Anybody else having issues pairing their Z3c with their computer? I'm running Windows 7 and the 'Portable Device Network Configuration' wizard crashes when I try to pair the device <_<[/-]

nevermind, it just takes a loooong time to get there.

I am about to take mine out of it's box. No idea what to expect after being on iOS for years and was on Maemo before that so I am an Android virgin.

Nice. You'll love the flexibility of the OS. Things where and how you want them. Let us know how you go :)

It is a little bit overwhelming right now. I hate the lock screen. I have downloaded a simple but good looking theme. I want to start playing with some serious apps soon. Off to the Android app thread :)

Oh, and I have deleted a schit load of stupid apps and disabled background data for almost everything. I went through a schit load of data doing almost nothing when I started using the phone but I was expecting this :D

Found an alternative (actually better) way to get to the quick settings (the notification panel you pull down with two fingers). Instead of swiping down with two fingers, hold your finger at the top right of the screen (status bar) for like a second, and then pull it down

I'm still waiting for MTN to get stock... signed contract on 20 December.

I waited for a week for the black one. They told my brother in-law that MTN are only stocking black and white phones so he is jumping ship to Vodacom...

I am struggling to wrap my head around Android but so far enjoying it very much. I can see myself spending a good R1K on apps to get it exactly how I want it. Finding a few tedious 'bugs' but so far have found solutions for all of them. The alarm clock not displaying the snooze button on the lock screen drove me fscking nuts this morning but that is now sorted. I love this phone but def need to get a cover for it. I almost dropped it twice yesterday.

Went for a pint with a mate last night and he was quite surprised to see I didn't have an iPhone anymore. He asked me what made me move across. I just picked the phone up and dropped it in the jug of water in front of us and said, "That's pretty cool for one."...

Also had an iPhone since the 4 came out... the 6 is just too expensive for me right now, and too big.

I feel like I'm getting the run around from this MTN service center but I've called MTN direct, they don't have... called the local vodacom shop and they don't have so it's not like I can get it elsewhere unless I mission to Durban.
